Yes, you can ask. On a match where the level is Required and your level is outside the range, tap Request to join. The lead booker decides whether you can join.
Send a request
Open the match.
Tap Request to join.
Tap Confirm request.
The button then shows Request pending.
What happens next
The lead booker gets a notification and can Accept or Decline.
If they accept, you get a notification. Open the match, tap Join and pay. Accepting doesn't hold a place for you, so join quickly.
If they decline, you're told, and you can't request that match again.
Good to know
You can only request when level is the only requirement you don't meet.
You need a level in the sport first.
If several players are already waiting, you'll see Too many players waiting to join.
Matches with a Suggested level don't need a request. You can join directly.
