There's no test. You choose your own starting level from the level descriptions, the first time you need one. Choose honestly: it decides who you're matched with.
Set your level
Open the Profile tab.
Under Progression, tap Set your level. The app also asks you when you try to create or join a match or activity, with Set your level to join or Create player profile.
Under My level is, use − and + to choose your level. It starts at 3.00. The name and description of each level are shown as you go.
Fill in your gender, playing side and hand if asked.
Tap Save, then Confirm.
Choosing the right level
Levels go from 1.00 (Newcomer) to 7.00 (Expert), in steps of 0.5 when you choose.
Read the descriptions in "What do the Nettla padel levels mean?" or "What do the Nettla tennis levels mean?".
If you've played other racket sports, you may start at Beginner even if you're new to padel or tennis.
Good to know
Some clubs cap the starting level. You'll see "This club has a limited self-rating of" and the highest level you can choose.
Padel: after this, you can only lower your level yourself. It goes up automatically when you win.
Tennis: you set your level once. After that, only your club can change it.
If you chose a level that's too high or too low, see "How do I change my Nettla level?".
